Citizen TV owned by Royal Media Services is the leading TV station in terms of viewership. The TV station has some of the highly rated news anchors in Kenya. Below is a fun read to get to know some of the partners of your favorite Citizen TV News Anchors 

Shaila Koinange

She is the beautiful wife of Jeff Koinange. Shaila once worked at Pan American World Airways as a flight attendant. Jeff met her while auditioning for a flight attendant job at the airline. They got married in 1998, four years after his divorce from Sonya.  The couple is blessed with a son named Jamal Mbuyu Koinange. 

Joyce Omondi

Joyce Omondi is a talented TV show host and gospel musician. In 2013 she won the Groove Awards for Video of the Year. She has also previously worked at Citizen TV where she was a co-host for the Rauka gospel show.

Joyce married the news anchor Waihiga Mwaura on 18th December 2015 at Sawela lodge in Naivasha. She wore a beautiful gown that she later revealed was designed by her childhood friend.

Andrew Matole 

Andrew Matole is the husband of prolific and gorgeous news anchor Yvonne Okwara. Yvonne studied Microbiology at JKUT before moving on to pursue a career in journalism. The two got married in 2014. The invite only ceremony took place at the Crown Plaza hotel in Nairobi. Andrew works as a veterinary surgeon and the two met when Yvonne’s pet fell sick. At the time of the wedding, Yvonne was 31 and Matole 47. 

According to his LinkedIn profile, he is the proprietor and director at the Andys Veterinary Clinic Ltd in Nairobi. 

“My husband is my best friend, we get along incredibly well, and none of these other issues have ever mattered,” Yvonne once stated. 

Andrew Matole was previously married to Alice Manyola Matole with whom he had children. 

Rashid Abdalla

Nearly all Kenyans know that Rashid and Lulu Hassan are a couple. Before Rashid moved to Citizen TV to work alongside his wife, he was an anchor for NTV. The two got married in 2013 and are blessed with three children, two boys and a girl. Their birthdays are just 7 days apart and the two are known to celebrate each other in the most amazing gestures.

Ivy Waitherero

Ivy Waitherero is the wife to Sam Gituku. The two walked down the aisle on 25th May 2019 at Deliverance Church in Karen. They had a reception at Nairobi Academy. Ivy graduated from Daystar University with a degree in Communication and later landed a job at Royal Media Services as a news director. 

Sheila Achieng 

Sheila Achieng is married to Wycliffe Orandi. The two got married in 2019. Both joined Royal Media Services a while ago, Wycliffe as a news anchor and Sheila in human resource. She served as deputy head of human resource. They exchanged their vows at CITAM in Karen. 

Dorothy Okinyi

Dorothy Okeyo-Okinyi is married to Mike Okinyi. Mike is an award winning sports journalist. 

Jacinta Mueni Kaikai 

Jacinta is the manager for Ogivly company and is married to Linus Kaikai, who is a Director of Strategy and Innovation of Kenyan Television station Citizen TV and Chairman of the Kenya Editors Guild KEG. The two exchanged vows in an exclusive wedding ceremony at the Nkoroi Catholic Church in Rongai in 2012. The couple is blessed with three children, two boys and a girl.
